Senior Trips

Geography students and teachers ventured to Iceland over half term for some seriously impressive Geography up close. Read about two of our Year 13 students' experiences below:

The Geography school trip to Iceland was full of excitement and discovery. From seeing the northern lights (which was a first for many of us) in Reykjavik to walking through the rift between the Eurasian and North American plate boundaries, the wide range of activities and sites made the trip a busy but fascinating experience which none of us will ever forget. There is no other country quite like Iceland and the memories we made on the trip will stay with us forever! I don’t know where else I would be able to walk behind a waterfall and on a volcano that had erupted only months ago.

I really enjoyed the trip to Iceland. It was jam-packed with loads of things to do, my highlights of the trip were hiking up a volcano that had recently erupted with expansive lava fields that covered the size of Barcelona. We went through a lava cave and were able to see the intricate detail in the rock from as well as seeing the northern lights on the first night which was a bucket list ticker. Each landform we saw brought the textbook to life and really helped contextualise GCSE and A level knowledge. It was an unforgettable trip.
