Celebrating our 141st Birthday!

On Tuesday the school celebrated its 141st birthday with over 1000 cupcakes (one for every student - thanks to our caterers); traditional cake cutting by the oldest and youngest girls (Saskia and Flora); singing the school song; and reflecting on what it means to be part of this wonderful community. 

As Ms Kennedy, our Head shared with our students in assembly: "What has made this school the thriving, hilarious, serious-minded, brilliant place that it has been for 141 years... is all of YOU. And the thousands of students who came before you, and the thousands of students who will follow you. Last year I spoke to you all about our founding foremothers, the brave and amazing women who started the GDST and this school to provide an equal education for girls; but really no school is about anything more than it is about its students. And what students we have here. You’re amazing."
